Porsche 911 From The Bridge Sells For £125,000

The 1977 Porsche 911S driven by Saga Norén (Sofia Helin) in The Bridge sold for £125,000 at a charity auction held at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed on Friday. The proceeds will be donated to WaterAid, which counts Sofia Helin among its patrons.
Imported to Sweden from San Francisco in 2009 and finished in Jäger Grun, this Porsche is a real piece of motoring and TV history. The auction guide price was just £20-30K, but there were twenty registered bidders before the sale began so auctioneers Bonhams had to bring in extra staff just to take care of telephone bids.
Chief Executive of WaterAid, Tim Wainwright, said: “We were very excited to see Saga’s Porsche do so well at auction and really grateful that the proceeds from the sale of the iconic car will help support WaterAid’s work across the world. It costs just £15 to provide one person with clean water, so the money raised really will help transform lives.”
Sofia Helin, who visited Cambodia earlier this year on behalf of WaterAid, added: “I’m so happy that Saga’s dear Porsche could raise so much money for such a good cause. I’ve seen first-hand what a wonderful job WaterAid does… and the money will really help transform lives for people in some of the world’s poorest communities.”
