Rachel and Jossan: No Filter
Tonight is the premiere of new comedy series Rachel och Jossan: Utan Filter on TV3 in Sweden, where Rachel Molin (Högklackat) and Josephine Bornebusch (Solsidan, Welcome To Sweden) write, direct and play amplified versions of themselves.
Playing a fictionalised version of oneself is nothing new in comedy, with Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David being the highest profile examples, but even in Sweden it has been done before with Johan Ulveson and Felix Herngren in Ulveson and Herngren. However, Rachel Mohlin and Josephine Bornebusch also list Emily Mortimer’s Doll and Em and Lisa Kudrow’s The Comeback as major sources of inspiration.
Over the course of the series, several celebrities will also be playing versions of themselves including Per Andersson, Plura Jonsson, Mark Levengood, Helena af Sandberg, Niclas Wahlgren and Robert Aschberg.
The first episode sees TV4 star Jessica Almenäs involved in a rather explicit scene. “It was crazy fun. I got the taste for it. I came to the set, greeted a completely unknown man and five minutes later we were having sex in a bed. It was just to go all in, haha,” says Jessica. “I said yes to challenge myself. I was nervous, but it was really fun and I would love to make more appearances as an actor.”
