Release Date Pushed Back For Vikander’s Tulip Fever

The US theatrical release for Alicia Vikander’s new movie Tulip Fever, directed by Justin Chadwick, has been set for September 1st, having been pushed back from August 25th for a quieter release weekend.
Tulip Fever is set in 17th Century Amsterdam where an orphaned girl Sophia (Alicia Vikander) is forcibly married to a rich and powerful merchant Cornelis Sandvoort (Christoph Waltz) which saves her from poverty.
After her husband commissions a portrait, Sophia begins a passionate affair with the painter Jan Van Loos (Dane DeHaan). Seeking to escape the merchant, the lovers risk everything and enter the frenzied tulip bulb market, in the hope that the right bulb will make a fortune and buy their freedom.
