Rolf Lassgård Begins Filming Jägarna Season Two

Rolf Lassgård is joined by Simon J Berger (Exit) and Lena Endre (Acquitted) for the second season of C More crime drama Jägarna (The Hunters), which has just begun filming in Älvsbyn, northern Sweden.

In season two, Erik Bäckström (Rolf Lassgård) finds himself conflicted when an old case comes back to haunt him. Joar Särn (Simon J Berger), convicted of murder 15 years ago, protests his innocence forcing Erik to question his actions. Perhaps he made a fateful mistake during his investigation.

Old wounds are torn open in the small town of Norrbotten as a fierce conflict emerges between those who are convinced that Särn is a cold-blooded killer and those who believe him to be innocent. Erik is caught in the middle and has no choice but to return to the case, even if it leads to a murderer who is closer to him than he realises.

Simon J Berger said: “I am really pleased to be playing Särn. He is a multifaceted character that allows me to paint with strong colors, just how I like it… And of course it’s fun to be part of the sequel to the original Jägarna movie, which made a big impression on me when it came out.”

Lena Endre, who plays prosecutor Thompson, added: “It’s great to be up and running again and to be in Älvsbyn with Rolf and the whole gang… Being a part of Jägarna feels really special – I’m a Northerner myself and filming up here feels like going home again.”

Jägarna season two is slated to premiere on C More and TV4 in 2021.
