As filming began this week, it was revealed that Rune Temte (The Last Kingdom) will feature in the big screen adaptation of Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is a prequel which will provide some backstory to the recent films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story follows Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) as she becomes one of the most powerful heroes in the universe when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
The character that Rune Temte plays remains a secret for now, and was initially shrouded in mystery for him too. He told Dagbladet: “I didn’t even know what role I was doing an audition for.”
The cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Dr. Walter Lawson (Mar-Vell), Lee Pace as Ronan, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, alongside Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, and Mckenna Grace.
Captain Marvel is slated for a theatrical release on 8th March 2019.
