Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir Begins Filming Fractures

Sara Dögg Ásgeirsdóttir (Cover Story) has begun filming in Iceland for eight-part medical drama Fractures (Vitjanir), directed by Eva Sigurðardóttir.
During a painful divorce, ER doctor Kristin, moves with her teenage daughter back to her parents in a tiny, rural fishing village. But she soon finds herself far out of her comfort zone as her scientific world view is challenged by the villagers’ use of herbal medicine and spiritualism.
Meanwhile, Kristin also has to deal with her psychic mother Johanna, who forces her to face the ghosts of her past, and is torn between her ex, Helgi, who tries to win her back, and old flame Ragnar, the local policeman.
The cast also includes Katla Njálsdóttir (Heartstone), Edda Björgvinsdóttir (Valhalla Murders), Þórhallur Sigurðsson (My Funeral) and Sveinn Ólafur Gunnarsson (Happily Never After).
Fractures is slated to premiere on RÚV in 2021.
