Screamfest Honours Icelandic Vampire Movie Thirst

Icelandic vampire movie Thirst (Þorsti), has been presented with two awards at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles: Best Special Effects Makeup for Geir Njardarson and Best Visual Effects for Atli Thór Einarsson.

Directed by Steinþór Hróar Steinþórsson and Gaukur Úlfarsson, Thirst takes place in a small city similar to Reykjavík where chaos and violence reign. There, we meet Hulda (Hulda Lind Kristinsdóttir) who is suspected of having something to do with her brother’s death and is being investigated by the police.

After being released due to insufficient evidence, Hulda crosses paths with Hjörtur (Hjörtur Sævar Steinason), a gay and lonely old vampire who helps bring her brother back to life. This brings terrible consequences, in addition to their ongoing battle with a bunch of televangelists who want them dead.
