Script Not Ready For Sequel To Hundred Year Old Man

As previously reported, Felix Herngren’s Oscar nominated Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared is set for a sequel to begin shooting in the summer. However, the script is still incomplete and an ending has yet to be decided.

Robert Gustafsson, who plays the hundred year old Allan Karlsson, said to Expressen: “We’ll see what track we go down, what turns the story takes… It’s still open.”

The 100 Year Old Man 2, written by Hans Ingemansson, is said to continue the story a year after the first film ends, with Allan Karlsson and his friends still in Bali. His next adventure takes him around the World and back to Sweden during which he is chased by the CIA, a Balinese debt collector and becomes an executive at a soft drink company.

“There is no final script as yet,” continues Gustafsson. “But we hope that we can claw back the time in April… But Moscow is certain, there will be a lot of Russia. And the CIA are always fun.”

Shooting is due to begin this summer in Indonesia, Moscow, Berlin and Stockholm with its release pencilled in for Christmas Day in Sweden. Mia Skäringer, Iwar Wiklander and David Wiberg are expected to reprise their roles as Gunilla, Julius and Benny.
