Viaplay has announced that its reboot of the 2011 psychological crime thriller Those Who Kill (Den som dræber), starring Natalie Madueño as criminal profiler Louise Bergstein, will return for an eight-part second season in 2021. Filming begins early next year.
In season two, three young men are murdered over a couple of months, and a personal connection to the case results in Louise working with the police. When another man is found murdered, she begins to see a clear pattern, but the killer turns out to be much more intelligent than she dare imagine. Louise tries desperately to solve the mystery before there is another victim, but is she on the kill list herself?
Filippa Wallestam, Chief Content Officer for NENT Group, said: “We are excited to be making yet another season of the immensely popular Those Who Kill starring the fantastic Natalie Madueño… If you have not yet seen this series, we highly recommended that you do so.”
Written by Ina Bruhn, the second season of Those Who Kill is slated to premiere on Viaplay across the Nordic region in early 2021. The BBC and ARTE have bought the rights for the UK and France respectively.
