Skam Actress Rising Star Of Toronto Festival

Norwegian actress Josefine Frida Pettersen (Skam) has been selected alongside Chino Darín, Geraldine Viswanathan and Kelvin Harrison Jr. for the TIFF Rising Stars programme which will showcase the next generation of acting talent at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival (5 – 15 September).
The Rising Stars will be immersed in a series of public events and private industry meetings during the festival. They will undertake professional development with international casting directors, filmmakers, producers, and industry executives, along with front-row access to red carpet events.
TIFF Artistic Director, Cameron Bailey, said: “These four talents are on the verge of making big waves on the international stage. We can’t wait for Toronto audiences to witness their breakout performances at this year’s Festival.”
Josefine Frida Pettersen’s current movie, Disco, receives its World Premiere at TIFF 2019 as part of the Discovery programme and has earned its director, Jorunn Myklebust Syversen, a nomination for the Kutxabank New Directors Award at the San Sebastian Film Festival in September.
