Stellan Skarsgård Begins Filming Out Stealing Horses

The movie adaptation of Per Petterson’s best-selling 2003 novel Out Stealing Horses (Ut Og Stjæle Heste), written and directed by Hans Petter Moland (A Conspiracy Of Faith), begins filming this week with a budget of €4.1m.
67 year old widower Trond (Stellan Skarsgård) has moved to a small rural community with his dog after losing his second wife. Here he plans to celebrate the millennium alone, but he discovers that he has a neighbour who knew him back in the summer of 1948.
That year he was 15 years old, and that was the summer when his father disappeared from his life for good. That same summer was the first time he felt close to a woman… the same woman who disappeared with his father.
Out Stealing Horses reunites Stellan Skarsgård with Bjørn Floberg, his co-star from Erik Skjoldbjærg’s 1997 thriller Insomnia. Anders Baasmo Christiansen (Kon-Tiki) is also confirmed to star.
