Spring Tide And The Most Forbidden To Air In March

SVT has announced that its latest dramas Spring Tide and The Most Forbidden will air on Sunday March 6th and Friday March 25th respectively. Both series receive their world premiere today at the Goteborg Film Festival as part of the Nordic Lights strand which puts the spotlight on Nordic television.

Spring Tide is a ten part thriller by Rolf and Cilla Börjlind’s (Beck, Arne Dahl) adapted from their own best selling book. A homeless former detective (Kjell Bergqvist) and an aspiring police officer (Julia Ragnarsson) join forces to solve a cold case in which a pregnant woman was buried alive on a beach on North Koster Island. Also stars Helena Bergström, Dag Malmberg, Johan Widerberg, Cecilia Nilsson and Dar Salim.

This three part drama is based on Kerstin Thorvall’s semi-autobiographical feminist novel from 1976. Kerstin’s (Cilla Thorell) beloved father dies when she is eleven years old, so she grows up with just her oppressive mother. In adulthood, Kerstin rebels against her mother by confronting her repressed sexuality with several destructive men.
