Stella Blómkvist Season Two In Production

Viaplay has announced that a second season of hit Icelandic noir drama Stella Blómkvist, based on the novels by the pseudonymous writer of the same name, is already in production with Heida Reed (Poldark) to reprise her leading role.

Smart, ruthless and with a taste for fine whiskey, Reykjavik lawyer Stella Blómkvist (Heida Reed) prefers one method of justice – her own. But as she becomes increasingly involved with some of Iceland’s most powerful political figures, Stella is faced with a series of dramatic new cases that will force her to push her unique skills – and the law – to the limit.

Viaplay Chief Content Officer, Filippa Wallestam, said: “Stella means star and this edgy and unconventional show is one of the brightest lights in Icelandic drama today… Viaplay has reshaped Iceland’s streaming landscape since launching this spring and we’re just getting started.”

Stella Blómkvist season two, directed by Óskar Thór Axelsson and Thora Hilmarsdóttir, comprises six parts and will be available to stream on Viaplay across the Nordic region in 2021.
