Stockholm Visionary Award For Joachim Trier

Director Joachim Trier (Thelma) will be presented with the Stockholm Visionary Award at the Stockholm Film Festival (10-21 November) and now shares the record of winning three Bronze Horses at the festival with Quentin Tarantino.
The jury said in their deliberation: “This year’s recipient of the Stockholm Visionary Award 2021 is a Nordic visionary who manages to portray modern times with crystal clear precision and insight. He is the new generation’s cross-genre voice and impressively depicts close relationships in a relatable manner.”
“With the Oslo trilogy, he shows his ability as a cinematic architect and skillfully manages to stage the human interior in his modern classics. It is a great honor to present this year’s Stockholm Visionary Award to Joachim Trier, a brilliant Nordic visionary.
Joachim Trier has previously been awarded the Bronze Horse for Best Film for Louder Than Bombs (2015) and Oslo, August 31st (2011), and will receive the Stockholm Visionary Award in person following the Swedish premiere of The Worst Person In The World at the Skandia Theatre on 11th November.
Previous winners of the Stockholm Visionary Award include: Céline Sciamma, Roy Andersson, Wong Kar Wai, Jacques Audiard and Wes Andersson.
