Tea Lindeburg Adapts Marie Bregendahl Classic

Filming has begun in Funen for Tea Lindeburg’s debut feature Høst (Autumn), adapted from Marie Bregendahl’s breakthrough 1914 novel A Night of Death (En dødsnat) about three generations of women trying to break free from their traditional roles on a farm in the late 1800s.

14-year-old Lise is the eldest of eight siblings and about to leave the farm to go to school. She is in love with one of the farmhands and has a promising future. But as her mother goes into labour and the pain intensifies, she has to take responsibility for her siblings and, as the hours go by, it becomes clear that nothing will ever be the same again.

The cast includes Flora Ofelia Hofmann Lindahl (The Land of Glass) as Lise, Stine Fischer Christensen as Lise’s aunt, and Lisbet Dahl as her grandmother, with Thure Lindhardt as Lise’s father and Ida Cæcilie Rasmussen as her mother.

Høst is slated for a Danish theatrical release on 21st October 2021.
