The 101 Year Old Man To Premiere Christmas Day

The sequel to Felix Herngren’s Oscar nominated movie The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared will be called The 101 Year Old Man Who Skipped Out On the Bill and Disappeared and has received 11 million SEK in funding from the Swedish Film Institute.

The 101 Year Old Man, written by Hans Ingemansson, will continue the story a year after the first film ends, with Allan Karlsson (Guldbagge nominated Robert Gustafsson) and his friends still in Bali.

Drinking the tasty Folk Soda puts a spring in the 101 Year Old Man’s step and his next adventure takes him around the World and back to Sweden, during which time he is chased by the CIA, a Balinese debt collector and becomes an executive at a soft drink company.

Many of the cast and crew remain the same as in the previous film. Felix Herngren (who directed the original) will be joined by his brother Måns Herngren as co-director, and Oscar nominated Eva von Bahr and Love Larson will return for hair and makeup. Mia Skäringer, Iwar Wiklander and David Wiberg are expected to reprise their roles as Gunilla, Julius and Benny.

Shooting is due to begin this summer in Indonesia, Moscow, Berlin, Stockholm and The 101 Year Old will receive its theatrical release on Christmas Day in Sweden.
