The Bridge Alumni For Cold War Shadow Play

Bron Studios and Tandem have announced that they are to collaborate on Shadow Play, an eight-part Cold War thriller written by Måns Mårlind (The Bridge), which already has several international co-production partners on board including Viaplay, Canal+ and ZDF.

Shadow Play follows Max McLaughlin, an American cop who arrives in Berlin in the summer of 1946 to help establish a police force in the aftermath of World War II and take down racketeer ‘Englemacher’ Gladow. Meanwhile, Max searches for his missing brother who is hunting down and killing former Nazis.

Executive producer Jonas Bauer, said: “As Max strives for justice in a lawless society, Shadow Play will convey the intense and schizophrenic atmosphere of post-war Berlin, a place split apart by war… as unpredictable and captivating as the transitory period leading from the Armageddon of World War II to the advent of the Cold War.”

Filming begins in Spring 2019, with Måns Mårlind to direct four of the episodes alongside his directing partner Björn Stein (Midnight Sun).
