The Fencer Launches Crowd Funded Oscar Campaign

The Fencer (Miekkailija), Finland’s entry for the 88th Academy Awards, has launched a crowd-funded Oscar campaign. Director Klaus Härö and producer Kai Nordberg have launched the campaign via Indiegogo in order to raise funds for marketing to help The Fencer secure its Oscars nomination.

The campaign, which opened on 18th November, reached 10% of its goal within five days. Härö then posted a video to thank their backers for a successful start:

“I want to say thank you for helping us get a good start in this crowd-funding campaign. We now have ten percent, and we need to keep working, we need to keep contributing in order to get all the way to the Oscars. And this is where we need your help, so I say: please, stay with us, and share this with all your friends, so we can be there together”, says the director.

Fund raising will continue until 18th December, and you can contribute to The Fencer’s crowd-funding campaign here: www.igg.me/at/thefencer. All contributions made 7th-12th December will be eligible to win a hoodie!
