The Matrix Star Carrie-Anne Moss Joins Wisting

Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) will play FBI agent Maggie Griffin in Viaplay’s ten-part crime drama Wisting, adapted by Trygve Allister Diesen (The Third Eye) and Katrine Valen Zeiner (Eyewitness) from Jørn Lier Horst’s novels The Hunting Dogs and The Caveman.

Empathetic, meticulous and relentless – the only thing to escape Larvik detective William Wisting (Sven Nordin) in his hunt for Norway’s most notorious criminals is a happy family life. And when two mysterious deaths interrupt Wisting’s Christmas, it is the beginning of a showdown with the deadliest killer of them all.

Meanwhile, Wisting’s journalist daughter Line heads straight into the path of the serial killer as she chases headlines, and an old case comes back to haunt Wisting, along with a damaging accusation that leaves him suspended and fighting for his reputation, career and life.

Carrie-Anne Moss said: “Being part of a project of this caliber is incredibly exciting. A story from a Scandinavian perspective and the ability to work with actors like Sven Nordin made it even more attractive for me. And it has made watching the Winter Olympics much more fun. Go Norway, go!”

Directors Trygve Allister Diesen and Katarina Launing added: “We are extremely pleased that Moss becomes part of the project. She caught the attention of the world audience with her role in the Matrix films and has an impressive track record. We feel sure that she will be fantastic as an FBI agent and we are looking forward to working with her.”

Wisting is currently filming in southern Norway. It will premiere on Viaplay in Spring 2019 and air later on TV3 Sweden.
