The New Nurses Confirmed For Season Five
Although the fourth season of post WWII medical drama The New Nurses (Sygeplejeskolen) drew to a close Sunday night, TV2 Charlie has now confirmed that the nursing students at Fredenslund Hospital will return for a fifth season in 2022.
The series follows the first intake at a nursing school in 1950s Denmark to consist of both male and female students. Together, they struggle to complete their probationary period as they break with old fashioned mindsets and face difficult ethical dilemmas while dark secrets lurk beneath the surface.
Executive producer, Mette Heiberg, said: “We are very happy with how the fourth season performed. It is a high quality series with a large viewing audience in the target demographic and is also a hit with young people. The New Nurses has become a wonderful autumn tradition and so it is a great pleasure to reveal that New Nurses will be back in 2022 on TV2 Play and TV2 Charlie.”
“I don’t want to reveal too much about the new season just yet but we will see, among other things, whether Anna and Ole’s relationship survives their trials now that Ole is employed at Anna’s father’s company, and whether Nina and Bent will become a true 1950s nuclear family with father, mother and children.”
