The Nile Hilton Incident Honoured At Sundance

On Saturday, Tarik Saleh’s (Tommy) third feature, The Nile Hilton Incident, was awarded the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize (Dramatic) at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
Set in Cairo, just weeks before the 2011 uprising, The Nile Hilton Incident follows corrupt detective Noredin Mustafa (Fares Fares) who is handed the case of a murdered singer.
While searching for the only witness, an undocumented Sudanese maid, he’s abruptly ordered to close the case. But Noredin continues, and the investigation leads to an untouchable elite who runs the country, immune from justice.
Saleh said in his acceptance speech: “Sundance is by far the best festival in the world. I want to thank my team, my partner, and my daughter, and you Fares because you’re the best fucking actor in the world.”
