The Nominees Are Revealed For 2016 Gullruten Awards

On Friday the nominees for the 2016 Gullruten Awards, which pays tribute to the Norwegian television industry, were announced at the Østbanehallen in Oslo. The awards ceremony will take place at the Grieghallen in Bergen on Friday 13th May 2016.

Petter Uteligger received four nominations for its portrayal of Petter Nyquist, who assumed the life of a homeless person for 52 days on the streets of Oslo, with no money, no cell phone and only the clothes on his back.

Kampen for tilværelsen, which was nominated for six awards at Gullruten 2015, made a strong return for its second season with nominations in the three main categories: Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best TV Drama. The series tells the story of Polish scholar Tomasz as he travels to Norway to collect money from a father he has never met.

Meanwhile, two of the other shows with the most nominations are both aimed at a younger female-skewed audience. Unge lovende (four nominations) is a comedy drama which follows three ambitious girls in their 20s who are trying to follow their dreams, whilst Skam (three nominations) charts the daily lives of a group of high school friends.
