Thicker Than Water Season Three Confirmed

Thicker Than Water (Tjockare än vatten), starring Björn Bengtsson, Aliette Opheim and Joel Spira aired on SVT in Sweden for its first two seasons, but is now set to move exclusively to Viaplay where season three will premiere next year.
In the first season of Thicker Than Water, siblings Lasse (Björn Bengtsson), Jonna (Aliette Opheim) and Oskar Waldemar (Joel Spira) inherited their mother’s guest house on the condition that they run it together for a whole summer. However, by the end of season two, secrets and bitter memories had torn the siblings apart and scattered them to the wind.
For the third season, the siblings are reunited once again on Åland, three years after their guesthouse burned down, with the intention of working together to ready the new hotel for sale. But it isn’t long until conflicts begin to mount and tensions deepen, so the question is who is to blame this time?
The cast for season three also includes Saga Sarkola, Molly Nutley, Filip Berg, Tobias Zilliacus, Jessica Grabowsky, Ville Virtanen and Stina Ekblad.
Producer, Cecilia Norman Mardell, said: “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to resume the story of the Waldemar family, longed for by both viewers and the actors alike. We are also pleased that a large part of this season is to be filmed on the fantastic Åland peninsula which adds authenticity and value to the story.”
SVP for Viaplay Originals, Fredrik Ljungberg, added: “Thicker Than Water has established a really loyal fanbase across the Nordic region and so we are extremely proud to present our customers with a long-awaited third season next year, exclusive to Viaplay.”
Thicker Than Water season three will comprise seven episodes, set to premiere on Viaplay throughout the Nordic region in 2020.
