Tobias Santelmann To Play Olav In Atlantic Crossing

Tobias Santelmann (Borderliner) will play Crown Prince Olav of Norway alongside Sofia Helin (The Bridge) as Crown Princess Märtha and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) as President Franklin D. Roosevelt in eight-part WWII drama Atlantic Crossing (Alt for Norge).

Atlantic Crossing is an inspiring story of how Crown Princess Märtha of Norway escaped from Nazi occupation to become an influential figure in world politics, living in the White House and determined to convince President Roosevelt to join the war.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince Olav is a military man of action, determined to prove himself by fighting alongside his countrymen against the Nazis. He is torn between the duty and love he feels for his country, his family in exile and his ageing father who desperately needs him by his side in England.

Tobias Santelmann told NRK: “It’s a story that is still relevant today regarding issues such as refugees and war, but it’s also a family drama. It has the war and royal family as a backdrop, but in the midst of it all it’s just a man and his wife trying to keep their relationship alive, with all the challenges that entails while living apart for five years.”

Atlantic Crossing begins production this December in the Czech Republic, and moves on to Norway in February. It is slated to premiere on NRK in 2021.
