Trailer Drops For Karen Blixen Biopic The Pact

A trailer has been released for The Pact, a psychological drama directed by Oscar winner Bille August (Pelle The Conqueror) about the special and turbulent relationship between author Karen Blixen and young poet Thorkild Bjørnvig.

Aged 63, Karen Blixen (Birthe Neumann) is at the height of her fame and seems certain to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. It has been 17 years since she returned to Denmark from her African adventure with her life in ruins. Devastated by syphilis and having lost the love of her life she has reinvented herself as a literary sensation.

However, Blixen remains isolated until the day she meets Thorkild Bjørnvig (Simon Bennebjerg), a handsome 30 year old, sensitive poet with a wife and child. She promises him literary stardom if, in return, he agrees to obey her unconditionally – even if it means losing everything else in his life.

The Pact (Pakten), written by Christian Torpe based on the autobiography of Thorkild Bjørnvig, will receive its theatrical premiere in Denmark on 15th April 2021.
