Trailer Drops For The Stand Starring Alexander Skarsgård

CBS All Access has released a trailer for its adaptation of The Stand, based on the novel by Stephen King, in which survivors of a worldwide pandemic find themselves caught in a battle between good and evil.
The Stand is an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by a patient who escapes from a biological testing facility, unknowingly carrying a deadly weapon: a mutated strain of super-flu that wipes out 99 percent of the world’s population in a matter of weeks.
Those that survive become embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. Two leaders emerge: Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg), a benevolent 108-year-old woman who urges them to build a community in Colorado; and Randall Flagg (Alexander Skarsgård), the nefarious Dark Man who delights in chaos and violence.
As the Dark Man and Mother Abigail gather power, the survivors will have to choose between them, and ultimately decide the fate of all humanity.
The cast also includes James Marsden as Stu Redman, Amber Heard as Nadine Cross, Odessa Young as Frannie Goldsmith, Henry Zaga as Nick Andros, Owen Teague as Harold Lauder, Katherine McNamara as Julie Lawry, Natalie Martinez as Dayna Jurgens and Greg Kinnear as Glen Bateman.
The Stand, directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), premieres 17th December on CBS All Access.
