Trapped Sequel In Production For Netflix

Netflix has announced a new season of Trapped (Ófærð), to be called Entrapped, with Ólafur Darri Ólafsson set to reprise his starring role in a story about warring factions in the remote highlands, set two years after the end of season two.
A neopagan and peaceful sect, The Extended Family, led by its spiritual leader Oddur (Egill Ólafsson) has made camp on a sacred site to be close to their heathen Gods. Meanwhile, a biker gang also stakes a claim on the land so its leader, Gunnar (Haraldur Stefánsson), calls his Danish counterpart Hopper (Thomas Bo Larsen) for back up.
Unfortunately, the arrival of the Danish bikers culminates in a clash between the warring factions and results in the death of Ivar (Auðunn Lúthersson). However, this young man was known to police officer Andri (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson) and so he feels obliged to join his colleague Hinrika (Ilmur Kristjánsdóttir) in the North to investigate the case.
Series creator, Baltasar Kormákur said: “Trapped is the most successful TV series in Iceland’s history and I am in no doubt that relaunching it as Entrapped with Netflix around the world will take it even further. The show will keep on tackling crimes in Iceland through its unique setting, bringing stories of our beloved main characters and their search for justice in a country deeply rooted in its traditions.”
Entrapped has already begun production in Iceland and will launch on Netflix in 2021.
