Trine Dyrholm Takes Queen Of Hearts To Sundance

Queen Of Hearts (Dronningen), starring Trine Dyrholm and Magnus Krepper, has been invited to compete in the World Dramatic Competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival (24th January – 3rd February) where it will also receive its world premiere.
Directed by May el-Toukhy, Queen Of Hearts follows a woman who jeopardises both her career and family when she seduces her teenage stepson and is forced to make an irreversible decision with fatal consequences.
The Sundance Film Festival aims to connect audiences to artists by discovering original voices and building a community dedicated to independent storytelling. To this end, the World Dramatic Competition consists of twelve films from emerging talents who offer fresh perspectives and innovative styles.
Founder of the Sundance Institute, Robert Redford, said, “Society relies on storytellers. The choices they make, and the risks they take, define our collective experience. This year’s festival is full of storytellers who offer challenges, questions and entertainment.”
