Try Hard Esports Comedy Targets Counter Strike

Viaplay has announced Try Hard, an eight-part comedy for this Autumn about five young gamers trying to break into the international esports scene. The series is created by Anders Morgenthaler (Princess) and Allan Hyde (True Blood).
Sebastian (Ari Alexander) is 24 years old, lives at home and spends all his time playing Counter Strike. So, when his parents finally throw him out, he needs to earn a living and what could be better than forming a pro gaming team with his friends? Unfortunately, they discover that becoming global superstars is anything but a game.
Joining Ari Alexander as this inexperienced team of Counter Strike dreamers are Patrick Hansen, Niclas Kølpin (Summer of `92), Mohammed Djeziri (The Day We Died) and Alexander Magnússon (I Am William).
Viaplay Chief Content Officer, Filippa Wallestam, said: “Esports is a dream career for millions of young people in the Nordic region today – and a mystery for almost everyone else. The time is right for a smart and funny scripted series that looks beyond the packed stadiums and multi-million-dollar tournaments to tell a universal story of personal ambition and the search for success.”
Try Hard is currently filming in the Zealand region of Denmark and will premiere across the Nordic region on Viaplay in Autumn 2020.
