TV2 Charlie Orders Sommerdahl Season Two

Since its premiere in March, more than half a million Danes have tuned in to watch Sommerdahl each week on TV2 Charlie. Now, viewers can look forward to a second season of murder mysteries based on the novels by Anna Grue, set in the beautiful North Zealand countryside.

The series revolves around intriguing murder cases solved by Detective Dan Sommerdahl (Peter Mygind) and his best friend Detective Superintendent Fleming Torp (André Babikian). But there is trouble ahead: Torp has been secretly in love with Sommerdahl’s wife Marianne (Laura Drasbæk) since their youth, and now she wants a divorce.

Executive producer, Pernille Bech Christensen, said: “Work on the script is in full swing, and it looks like it will be another season full of strong crime stories. Without revealing too much, I can tell you that the relationships of our three main characters are further tested (and) we are still in lovely Helsingør which adds a definite atmosphere to the series.”

The first season of Sommerdahl has been sold to a number of European countries so far, including Germany, Sweden, Norway, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium.
