UK DVD Release Confirmed For Dicte Season 1

Season one of hit Danish drama Dicte Crime Reporter, which currently airs on More4 in the UK, has been confirmed for DVD release on 11th July 2016 courtesy of RLJ Entertainment’s Acorn Label, with the second season to follow later this year.

Newly divorced journalist Dicte Svendsen (Iben Hjejle, High Fidelity) has returned with daughter Rose to her hometown of Aarhus where she is trying to escape the past and build a new future. But working as a crime reporter, she soon finds herself caught up in a case that is destined to open old wounds when she discovers the body of a murdered young woman.

From organ trafficking and diamond smuggling, to political assassinations and football hooliganism, Dicte is a brash, quick witted reporter, who is not afraid to put herself in danger and will stop at nothing to uncover the truth, throwing herself into each investigation, jeopardising not only her life, but sometimes the lives of those around her.

The DVD release of Dicte will be presented in its original format, covering five stories over ten episodes: Personal, Deductible, Hidden Defects, Life and Body, and Violence and Power.

Dicte is based on Elsebeth Egholm’s series of novels, and averaged an audience of over 1.2 million for season one when it premiered on TV2 Danmark, giving it a 49% share of viewers. Two seasons have aired in Denmark so far but a third is in production with Søren Malling confirmed to star.
