Viaplay Renews Pørni For Two More Seasons

Viaplay has renewed critically acclaimed Norwegian comedy drama Suck It Up (Pørni), created by and starring Henriette Steenstrup, for a second and third season.
Three teenagers and one ageing father to take care of at home, thirty preschoolers to take care of at work and no time for any of them – life as a working parent is really no fun for Pernille, nicknamed Pørni. Moreover, she is grieving for her sister and has a difficult ex-husband to contend with. How will she ever catch up with her love life?
Henriette Steenstrup said: “The reception so far has been incredibly good and then suddenly the idea of making more Pørni became extremely frightening, but of course it’s very exciting too. We have so many plans for the next two seasons.”
Viaplay Chief Content Officer, Filippa Wallestam, said: “Family life sometimes feels like one long dilemma, which might be why Pørni has immediately struck a chord with audiences. This is a show about a women’s balancing act that itself gets the balance just right: Pørni is at once comic and tragic, sometimes awkward but most of all incredibly charming… It’s very satisfying to see the series’ enormous success so far and to renew for two further seasons.”
Suck It Up season two is currently filming in Oslo and is set to premiere exclusively on Viaplay across the Nordic region in 2022. Returning cast members include Jon Ranes, Vivild Falk Berg, Gunnar Eiriksson, Johanna Mørck and Nils Ole Oftebro.
