Premium Nordic streaming service Viaplay, whose original productions include Alex, Face To Face and Wisting, is set to launch in the UK in the second half of 2022, followed by Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2023.
Viaplay’s accelerated expansion, in combination with successful recent launches in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, and upcoming launches in the US and the Netherlands will bring Viaplay to a total of sixteen countries. By the end of 2025 it is anticipated that their subscriber base will increase to 12 million, of which approximately 6 million is expected to come from international markets.
