Viva Hate takes place against the backdrop of the Gothenburg music scene in the late 1980s. Daniel is an unwanted lovechild from a one-night stand and is ignored by his mother in favour of his petty criminal brother, Tommy. He thinks that love is a lie and those who love are idiots. He thinks only of Morrissey, friendship with fellow rock band members of Viva Hate and their dream of making it big.

As Daniel tries to break through with his band, he gets entangled in his brother’s criminal life and finds his true love Fanny. The story explodes in music and action as Daniel finds out what really matters in life. It is an unpredictable and action-saturated drama that will engage with its rawness and humour.

The protagonist Daniel fights for love and truth, and in his attempts to find them his music becomes both an escape and a solution. An added bonus is the inclusion of tracks by The Smiths, The Cure and The Cult.
