Wallis Grahn Obituary
Swedish actress Wallis Grahn (Rederiet) has died peacefully at the age of 72.
Wallis Grahn’s career began with studying at the Malmö Stage School from 1967-1970, and this love of theatre continued throughout her life as she performed at Malmö City Theatre from 1980 to 2005, along with further roles at Stockholm City Theatre, Dramaten, Malmö Music Theatre and Riksteatern..
Her breakout role on screen came in 1974 with Jan Halldoff’s The Last Adventure (Det sista äventyret), which marked the beginning of a long and varied career in film and television throughout the 80s and 90s.
That same year, she played Vera in the legendary musical Jösses flickor befrielsen är nära, directed by Suzanne Osten at the Stockholm City Theatre, which led to a part written especially for her in Osten’s debut feature Mamma in 1982.
Later, Wallis Grahn provided the voice of Gammel-Maja for animated movie Peter No-Tail (Pelle Svansløse) in 1981, but she is perhaps best known for her role as Gerd Sjögren in the first two seasons of soap opera Rederiet (1992-1993).
