Living in a tiny trailer at the back of their family’s bar, Sofia and her older half-sister Olivia are abused and exploited. Sofia’s stepfather, Lars, is a violent man who rules the girls and their mother with fear.

When their mother lets it slip that Sofia’s biological father may still be alive and living nearby, Sofia and Olivia hit the road bound for the address of an old love letter. What they find is unexpected.

Adam, Sofia’s father, lives in an isolated farmhouse surrounded by barbed wire and signs that say “KEEP OUT!” An ex-soldier with severe PTSD, Adam lives alone and has no interest in opening up to anyone, much less two young runaways.

So the girls make camp outside his property in the hope that he will finally give in…
