Wildland World Premiere Set For Berlin

Jeanette Nordahl’s directorial debut feature Wildland, starring Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen), is set to receive its world premiere at the 70th Berlin Film Festival (20th February – 1st March) where it has also been selected for the Panorama section.

Written by Anna Ingeborg Topsøe (The Charmer), Wildland is a contemporary crime drama that follows seventeen-year-old Ida (Sandra Guldberg Kampp) who falls into the care of her estranged aunt Bodil (Sidse Babett Knudsen) and three sons after the tragic death of her mother.

Ida initially finds comfort in her new home, which is filled with physical tenderness and a strong sense of unity, but the darker reality of her family’s criminal way of life and toxic dynamics slowly encourages her to accept violence, addiction and intimidation as normal.

As the situation spirals out of control, Ida begins to doubt if she really belongs with this loyal, but dangerous matriarch and is confronted by the very same question that her mother once had to face: just how far are you willing to go for your family?

Wildland (Kød & blod) is set for a theatrical release in Denmark on 12th March 2020.
