Winter Brothers To Compete At London Film Festival

Hlynur Pálmason’s debut feature Winter Brothers (Vinterbrødre) has been selected to compete in the First Feature Competition at the BFI London Film Festival (4 – 15 October).

The film follows Emil (Elliott Crosset Hove) and his older brother Johan (Simon Sears) through their routines, habits and rituals as they work in a limestone factory through a cold, harsh winter.

The brothers are swept into a violent feud that erupts between them and another family, but the focus of the film is Emil and his need to be loved and desired.

Elliott Crosset Hove’s performance earned him the award for Best Actor at the Locarno Film Festival last month.
